Welcome to the 92nd City of Devonport Eisteddfod to be held at the Town Hall Theatre, paranaple arts centre, 145 Rooke Street Devonport and LifeWay Church, 130 William Street Devonport.
Dates for the 2021 competition are: Dance - 25th August to 29th August 2021 Speech & Drama - 30th August to 1st September 2021 Music - 1st September to 8th September 2021 Brass Band Instrumental - 8th September 2021 Showcase of Talent Concert - 9th September 2021
Entries open on 1st April 2021 and close on 9th June 2021 COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY Due to the Covid 19 restrictions within the venues, there will be changes made to the 2021 Devonport Eisteddfod programme. These will be as follows: - Choirs will consist of fewer voices to assist in maintaining audience numbers.
- All choir, group & ensemble classes will be limited to 2 entries per school/organisation.
- Some classes will not be offered at all this year. Please check schedules carefully before entering.
- Dance classes will be capped at 24 entrants only, with a limit of 4 entries per school/studio.
- Dance groups will have a maximum of 12 competitors only.
- Dance competitors will need to arrive as near to ready as possible.
- There is to be NO movement between backstage and the theatre auditorium, only the teacher and 1 assistant to be backstage.
- All tickets will need to be pre-booked due to seating limitations and contact tracing.
- If you want your child/children to join you after performing, they must have a ticket as there will be no Dance passes or Season tickets available this year.
Tickets will not be available to pre-book until after programming has been completed and days and dates are established. More information regarding this to come. The Eisteddfod Committee acknowledges the difficulties this may and will cause but we are endeavouring to go ahead for 2021 competitions being our 100th year since inception and ask that you bear along with us and hope that we can have as good a year as possible under the circumstances.
